UPDATE: Cagora is no longer accepting members.

I am very excited about a new virtual real estate (VRE) social community and marketplace which is officially opening up in April. Remember this name, “Cagora” because the ‘net will soon be buzzing about it. Now before I give you more details–here’s the important and time sensitive part. After working on this project for several years, Rob Anderson, Cagora’s founder, is ready to launch. To reward the early adopters, he is giving founding members 2-Tier JV status. To get this status, all you have to do is sign up by March 31 and you’ll have that member status forever! And there is no cost to register.

I hope what I just said is kicking in. If Cagora hits it big as I am expecting, you’ll be sick that you didn’t at least register as an affiliate before March 31, 2009. Here’s the link:

Once you sign up you will receive your own link to invite your friends if you choose. After March 31, 2009, you can still become a regular affiliate, but why wait now that you know.

Cagora (pronounced Ka Gor? Ah) derives from the letter C for Community and the word Agora, a place for public assembly and markets in ancient Greece. This community marketplace is what Cagora is all about. I have been investigating this opportunity for several weeks now and am getting new insights every day, so I understand that you may not be able to get your head around it right away.

Rob recognized that there were gaping holes on the Internet. Google, as great as it is, can be like drinking from a fire hydrant. Sometimes you just get too much irrelevant information. Social media, like Facebook, helps you keep up with your friends, but for many people their reach is limited. So if you can combine the content and trust of the community with the reach of a search engine you can get targeted information provided by people that know the subject or know the locale.

Other facets that make Cagora so exciting are the plans to help offline businesses get a meaningful and cost effective presence on the web. Add to that, a plan to share profits with local non-profit organizations and a dogged determination to make it family friendly and spam-free. All this can be possible because the community will have the loudest voice to insist on quality.

In the interest of full disclosure, I was so excited about the long-term prospects of Cagora that I have become a community partner. I encourage you to watch the videos and look through the materials on the website after you register. As more partners, community volunteers and advertisers come on board, its content and usefulness will accelerate. Right now you have to have some vision to see the possibilities. But that’s where the opportunity lies.

Click on the link below to register and explore the site. You can start your profile and invite your friends. You can post articles and videos about your niche and gain some exposure for your business and yourself. Claim your Virtual Real Estate in this Community Land Rush!
