Wow! What a great experience we just had in Atlanta at NAMS8! What started out 3 years ago as training for affiliate marketers has grown into total online business training and I love that.
This time I saw more relationship building as well. Attendees and instructors were getting together with others to form joint ventures, accountability partnerships and mastermind groups so that when they get home, they can accomplish more.
My 3 Classes Rocked!
On Friday morning I had a group of newbies some without even a domain name much less a website. So we spent a couple of hours getting a domain name, setting up hosting and installing WordPress. By lunchtime, they all had their very own secure website that they controlled. And because they installed WordPress securely, they had a good understanding of their website under the hood so to speak. Then after lunch Paul Taubman taught them about the WordPress dashboard, most of the settings, installing plugins, and creating posts and pages. We also had several helpers including Regina Smola in case anyone got stuck along the way.
On Saturday morning, I was included in a Git ‘er Done session along with several other instructors including Connie Green. The students could use that session to get one-on-one help with anything that was slowing them down. For example, I worked with one student who was having trouble getting his navigation menu to appear on his site and also to install his optin form. He was so excited when we refreshed the page and there they were.
Finally on Sunday morning, I taught a 200 level class about how they could turn content they already have into digital coaching or training and what an easy and effective delivery system looks like. They were able to plan out their own project during the workshop time. We also brainstormed together so that everyone could get some new ideas. We had several ah-ha moments during that 90 minutes.
It’s Not Just Affiliate Marketing Any More…
NAMS started out as an affiliate marketing training workshop, but it has evolved into so much more. More and more offline business owners are enrolling to learn how they can use online marketing to grow their businesses. There are more sessions devoted to creating content, communicating with your customers, strategies for converting visitors into buyers and even improving website security.
Here is just a small sample of some of the sessions during NAMS8:
- Kindle and printed book publishing
- Finding content and images in the public domain
- Securing your website and your computer to avoid hackers and viruses
- How to host a successful telesummit
- How to be incredibly productive and get more done
- Live copywriting reviews
- Creating an offline marketing agency
- How to make videos with PowerPoint
The MyNAMS Facebook page is full of great comments like Melanie who said:
This has been an incredible experience! TONS of hands-on, walk-away creations during the event. Excellent beyond words. Now I know why so many people return year after year.
