A great way to keep your content fresh on readers’ minds is to provide an RSS function on your website. RSS which stands for Really Simple Syndication allows the reader to receive notification of new content immediately in their browser, email program or other reader. They can view the entire post or a summary of the post.
Visitors to your website will more readily subscribe to a feed than to give you their email address although if you are trying to make money with your blog, developing an email list will be critical to your success. If you are using Blogger or WordPress to produce your blog, look for a theme that has the RSS Feed capability built into the theme.
A video demonstrating the use of RSS from the reader’s prospective is below. The website in the video is no longer active but the concept is the same with any website with an RSS feed like this website. Also, these techniques work with newer versions of Internet Explorer and Outlook as well as other browsers like Firefox.
