I can’t stress enough how important it is to run a computer backup on a regular basis. Especially if you are a blogger, affiliate marketer, or have a small business website. Two good options are Mozy and an external hard drive.
It is amazing how many files you accumulate over time in terms of ebooks, photos, videos, songs, software; not to mention all the content you create.
What would you do if one day it all disappeared? Just think about your contact list.
There are several ways to create a computer backup. You could transfer critical files to an external hard drive attached to your computer. Storage has definitely gotten cheaper. I recently bought a Western Digital My Passport Essential USB 500 GB Portable External Hard Drive
On my main computer, however, where data is constantly changing, I use Mozy to do my computer backup. I have it set up to run at midnight and it gives me get peace of mind knowing that if my hard drive crashed or my laptop was stolen, Mozy has everything in a secure location and I can retrieve it all in a matter of hours. By the way, I did have a hard drive crash once and learned the hard way how expensive it is to have the data recovered. Believe me–you don’t even want to go there.
Mozy gives you 2 GB of backup space for nothing. Granted, that’s not a lot these days, but if you just want to backup a few critical files, that’s a great option. If you have more data than 2 GB, Mozy is offering a great deal during March. If you use discount code GOLD, you can get a 20% discount but only through March.

I’m a writing major in college, so I have countless papers and projects stored on my computer. I cannot afford to lose any of them – my grades and my future depend on them. That’s why I decided to back up my work using Mozy. I trust Mozy to keep my files safe. I haven’t had any problems with the program, and I feel I’ve made a wise investment. Thanks to Mozy.

I also use Mozy to store important reports in my job. That way if something happened to my laptop, I won’t have to worry because I still have a copy of my reports in Mozy.
